SACRAMENTO, Calif — California is drying out after a week full of flooding, mountain road shutdowns and difficult travel due to weather.

The storm track pushes north Friday, which will keep much of California dry through the weekend. Morning patchy frost and fog is expected each day through the valley and along with some freezing fog in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

A new round of storms is lined up in the Pacific and begins to affect the Pacific Northwest with rain and snow starting Saturday.

Early next week, the storm track moves south which will begin to bring rain and snow into parts of Northern California by Monday.

Bigger impacts are expected by Tuesday with rain and snow expanding throughout the state. Snow level through the Sierra Nevada will be close to 4,000 to 5,000 feet. This will likely cause traffic delays with chain controls and slow travel over the passes.

This will be another week with the chance of bringing 2 to 3 inches of valley rain and several feet of Sierra snow.
