CHICO, Calif. — As temperatures continue to rise in Northern California, at least one location is now open to the public as a cooling center.
The city of Chico announced Monday that an emergency cooling center will be open from Monday, June 10 through Tuesday, June 11 at the Jesus Center on Park Avenue. Restrooms and water are available for those who show up.

“The City Council directed staff to ensure this venue is available to the public when extreme weather conditions exist," said Chico City Manager, Mark Orme. "It’s an honor to partner with the Jesus Center on this effort, and we appreciate their willingness to help the city accomplish this Council priority.”
