SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake centered in Sonoma County Saturday afternoon could be felt as far away as Sacramento, Rio Vista and in parts of the north Bay Area, the United States Geological Survey reports.
According to the USGS, the quake struck around 12:34 p.m. Saturday 73.3 miles west-northwest of Sacramento and 5. 3 miles west of the town of Cobb.
There were no preliminary reports of damage. In the Sacramento region, the USGS reports that the tremor was felt as a 1.5-magnitude earthquake. The earthquake's depth was 3.3 kilometers.
