M3.4 earthquake strikes near Soledad

A M3.4 earthquake struck in the Soledad area.

SOLEDAD, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 3.4 earthquake has struck near Pinnacles, California Wednesday.

 The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck around 6:20 p.m.

 It was centered about 12.2 miles northeast of Soledad, or about 141 miles south of Sacramento.

People reported feeling it in areas around Santa Cruz, San Jose and in the area around Soledad. There are no immediate reports of damage.
