M3.4 earthquake shakes Truckee area

People reported feeling it around the Truckee, South Lake Tahoe and Reno areas.

TRUCKEE, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 3.4 earthquake struck Truckee, California Sunday.

 The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck around 9:20 p.m.

 It was centered about 9 miles southeast of Truckee and about 21 miles north northwest of South Lake Tahoe.

People reported feeling it around the Truckee, South Lake Tahoe, Reno and Carson City areas.  There are no immediate reports of damage.
