M4.1 earthquake strikes off Northern California coast

People reported feeling it in Klamath and near Orick and Gasquet.

An earthquake was reported off the coast of Northern California.

KLAMATH, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 4.1 earthquake has struck off the coast of Northern California.

 The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck shortly before 9:30 p.m.

 It was centered about 9.2 miles west southwest of Klamath and about 44 miles north of Arcata.

People reported feeling it in Klamath and near Orick and Gasquet.  There are no immediate reports of damage.
