SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two people were rescued from their makeshift shelter Tuesday as rising waters left them stranded.
Sacramento Fire officials say it happened near Tenaya Avenue and Natoma Street.
First responders in paddle boats and motorboats made their way to the structure, bringing the two people and their dog to safety.
The entire area surrounding the makeshift shelter along Steelhead Creek is flooded, and both a high wind warning and flood watch are activated.
No one was injured, according to Sacramento Fire.
