FORT MYERS, Fla. — As Hurricane Ian blew through southwest Florida as a Category 4 storm, the streets of Fort Myers and surrounding cities were left flooded.
In a video taken from a high-rise apartment in downtown Fort Myers, the streets are shown to be completely covered with water — making it impossible for any cars to drive.
Before and after photos posted on Twitter by @Devin_Turk show how flooded the area surrounding the apartment complex, Oasis Grand, actually got after the storm forced water in.
As the skies continued to darken in the videos posted to Twitter, water that flooded the streets of downtown Ft. Myers rippled as high-speed winds blasted through the area.
And downtown Ft. Myers wasn't the only location seeing flooded streets -- Naples, Sanibel and Cape Coral were left with severe flooding following Hurricane Ian pushing into Florida.
