TRUCKEE, Calif. — Update:
All roadways on eastbound I-80 near Overland Trail are now clear after an earlier overturned big rig accident in the area.
While chain control advisories recently expired on US-50 and eastbound I-80, chains are still required on Sierra Routes 4, 88, 89 and 108.
Chain controls were also lifted on I-80 over Donner Summit.
"This last storm is a reminder on how unpredictable the weather is in our area as we can get snowstorms through spring and sometimes even into the month of June," said a spokesperson for California Highway Patrol in Truckee.

After a dry winter in Northern California, a spring storm rolling through the Sierra continues to deteriorate road conditions throughout the area.
Temperatures are forecasted to be as low as 24 degrees in South Lake Tahoe, and 25 degrees in Truckee.
There is heavy traffic on eastbound I-80 east of Overland Trail due to an overturned big rig, according to CHP Truckee.

According to National Weather Service Sacramento, drivers passing through the Sierra are advised to slow down because of slippery roads from fast-melting snowfall throughout Friday morning. Traveling is "highly discouraged."

- I-80, Kingvale to Truckee
- US-50, Twin Bridges to Meyers
- Northbound US-89, Truckee to Lake Tahoe
- SR-267, Crystal Bay
Highway advisories:
According to Caltrans, Donner Summit rest stops in Nevada County are closed for snow removal on Friday morning.
All trucks must also stop at the brake check area on westbound I-80 in Placer County just west of Nyack.
