MARKLEEVILLE, Calif. — A Markleeville woman's home was devastated by a flurry of rain and flooding that swept through the area.
As roads in Markleeville were getting covered in mud, Marie Bravo's home sustained heavy damages during the Flash Flood Warning in the area.
Her basement, seven feet below ground, was entirely flooded and her home's floors were covered in water. At the peak of the storms, she had to climb out of a window to escape the deluge.
A neighbor’s video showed hail and rain pummeling the the town of Markleeville Wednesday that pushed mud, floodwater and debris from the Tamarack and Slink burn scars into the roadways.
Drivers caught in the flash food were also suddenly at risk of being washed away. Cars were reportedly swept into embankments. Along Hot Springs Road, the debris flow formed an impassable river across the pavement.

Meanwhile, Bravo tried to keep positive, but she was overwhelmed at the prospect of more wildfires and storms to come.
"This is the called the climate emergency, OK? Get it? Get it? Get it, Biden?. Get it? Do nothing Congress, this is what we have to deal with. We need mitigation okay!" she said.
Bravo said she she only got sand bags hours after the storm passed, but it was too late for them to do any good.
Residents in the Town of Markleeville said they’re expecting days and possibly weeks of clean up and road closures with the area covered in mud.
