CALIFORNIA, USA — Along State Route 20, people are already seeing thick snow on the roadways. It's part of the reason Caltrans says travel is not advised over the Sierra Passes Monday night.
Images of a truck overturned and upside down in a snowy embankment at the ramp from I-80 to State Route 20 illustrates the reason why. Snow has since been piling on top of it.
The California Highway Patrol says no one was injured in the single car roll over that happened around 6 p.m.
Officials remind folks who are taking a risk on the drive that the speed limit is 30 miles per hour in chain control conditions.
ABC10's Van Tieu reported that the driver believes some massage tables in the back of the pickup truck cushioned the impact. He said that he was probably going 35 mph, fishtailed and couldn't correct his path.
