Three fires in Southern California have grown rapidly on Thursday.
All three fires are in Riverside County. This area is immediately downwind of Santa Ana winds. These winds are notorious for being hot, windy and extremely dry. They are perfect for elevating the concern for fire weather.
These three fires began earlier today:
The opportunity for fire weather remains in the forecast until Friday at 6 p.m.
The opportunity for northeast winds gusting up to 50 mph will remain in the forecast overnight Thursday and during much of the day Friday for Southern California. Winds are expected to diminish Friday night.
