CALIFORNIA, USA — The big headline Wednesday for Northern California will be fire weather coming back to the area. There will be strong winds, lower humidity on top of near-record dry fuels.
It's a big story as more planned power shutoffs come from PG&E.
The wind will cause problems even if a fire does not break out. The winds will start to ramp up overnight Tuesday into Wednesday with stronger winds before sunrise Wednesday morning. Valley areas, as well as portions of the Sierra, will see winds in the 20-30 mph range and gusts up to 50mph at times in the most wind prone areas.
This may bring tree limbs down or entire trees. This may cause damage to homes, cars, powerlines and is a danger to people as well.
Be careful when parking and choosing where you spend time. These decisions are important on windy days to avoid problems.
Driving may be difficult especially on East/West corridors for high profile vehicles like trucks, and RVs. Power outages may occur outside of the planned outages for safety due to limbs on lines.
The air will also be very dusty with lower visibility near open fields. Blustery conditions will keep people very bundled up in the morning.
