SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An AR2 hit the coastline of Northern California from Bodega Bay down toward Santa Cruz. The abundant rain left flooding along the coast lines and interior bay, but also to low laying areas of the valley.
The Sacramento Valley saw record rain at Sacramento Executive Airport. 1.10” was recorded breaking the previous one day total for December 14th of 1.02”. While not everyone saw record rain, precipitation totals were impressive. Downtown Sacramento came in at 1.17”, Blue Canyon received 2.15”, Marysville at 1.10”, Vacaville at 1.53”, with Stockton and Modest between .25-.50” of rain.
Snow totals have been impressive for the Sierra but the entirety of the storm won’t be measured until early Sunday morning. Snow totals from Friday to early Saturday came in at 17” for the Central Sierra snow lab, with an additional 1-2 feet expected to be recorded Sunday. Palisades Tahoe is reporting 13”, Kirkwood showing 16”, with Heavenly reporting only 4-7” in 24 hours according to their website.
