SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Three storms in a matter of about 10 days have left more than 100 inches of snow at the summit of numerous ski resorts across Northern California’s Sierra Nevada mountain range.
New Lifts and trails are opening each day. Half, if not three quarters of lifts at most resorts are now open.
This amount of snow comes almost an entire month earlier than last year.
Here is a look at the total snow accumulation so far at the various summits:
- Bear Valley: 108 inches
- Boreal: 86 inches
- Squaw Valley: 110 inches
- Alpine Meadows: 105 inches
- Kirkwood: 125 inches
- Sierra at Tahoe: 117 inches
