CALIFORNIA, USA — After the passage of a cold front, we're experiencing a surge of cooler air along with windy conditions today. The highest winds are expected in parts of the Delta during the day.
There is a High Wind Warning in effect til 4 p.m. this afternoon.
This warning is for the Carquinez Strait and Delta.
Northerly wind may cause downed trees in the Delta region due to non-prevailing wind direction. Power outages are also possible and travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
With the wind speed, it's recommended to secure outdoor objects.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Wind Advisory for the western side of the Sacramento Valley extending into the Coastal Range til 10 p.m. Sunday.
Areas of strong wind are possible over ridges and through favorably oriented canyons of the Sierra Nevada.
Wind speeds are expected to decrease tonight in the Central Valley, but it will remain windy in the mountains into Monday morning.

- Kirkwood (9,186' elevation) - 209 mph
- Travis AFB - 52 mph
- Stockton - 43 mph
- Sacramento - 38 mph
- El Dorado Hills - 31 mph
