The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Red Flag Warning because of gusty winds, warm temperatures and low relative humidity until 9 p.m. Thursday for the Valley and 10 a.m. Friday for the Foothills.
Some of the highest winds are expected to arrive later Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. For that reason, they have also issued a Wind Advisory until noon Thursday for the Coastal Range, Sacramento Valley and adjacent foothills.
WHAT'S EXPECTED?
Strong north to northeast winds are expected to impact the region through Thursday morning. Wind gusts to exceed 50 mph in many
locations, with locally higher gusts over exposed ridges, canyons,
and wind prone areas.
WHEN... Through Thursday morning. Strongest winds are expected
this afternoon and tonight.
IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree branches could be blown down. Difficult driving
conditions.
