Weekend wind advisory in effect for Northern California

The advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. All are encouraged to drive slow, and tie down loose objects.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A wind advisory will take effect for several areas in Northern California over the weekend, which means it's time to tie down loose objects and beware of tree limbs.

The advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9. In a post shared on Facebook, the San Joaquin Office of Emergency Services advised that residents in the areas affected by the advisory use extra caution when driving during those times Sunday.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Difficult driving conditions for small and high profile vehicles," the post reads, adding that "northeast winds may cause downed trees in the Delta region due to the unusual wind direction."
