A low-pressure system approaching the Central Valley will introduce a chance of thunderstorms for the Northern Sacramento Valley, the foothills and the Sierra for Wednesday.
Any thunderstorms that do develop may produce gusty winds, small-sized hail along with brief but heavy downpours.
The threat for thunderstorms increases for Thursday to include the Sacramento area, as well.
Remember when thunder roars, head indoors. Lightning is one of the leading causes of weather-related fatalities. You can be struck by lightning from a storm that's several miles away. So, wait at least 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder before you head back outside.
