YUBA CITY, Calif. — A woman killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Yuba City was identified Wednesday.
The Sutter County Sheriff's Office said 38-year-old Catalina Aceves from Live Oak was killed on Aug. 25.
According to the Yuba City Police Department, officers were called Sunday to an apartment in the 1400 block of Stabler Lane for a welfare check.
The Reno Police Department asked for the welfare check after they found a man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a casino.
Yuba City officers entered the apartment and found Aceves dead inside. Police are investigating the case as an apparent murder-suicide.
The man hasn't been identified yet. The nature of their relationship hasn't been released. The shooting is under investigation.
