AUBURN, Calif. — The Placer County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a credit card skimming operation in North Auburn and the city of Auburn.
The Placer County Weights and Measures Department told the sheriff's office about credit card skimming operation at a gas station.
Skimmers were embedded inside the gas dispensers, which made it impossible to know from the outside that it was compromised, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say multiple gas stations have been affected.
