Man suspected of robbery on the run from Davis police

The Davis Police Department released a photo of a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred on October 5.

DAVIS, Calif. — The man suspected of robbing a person at gunpoint evaded police custody for nearly a week.

The Davis Police Department said they had not located Eric Paul Rodriguez, 35. Police suspect, he was involved in the robbery that occurred Oct. 5 near Sycamore Park.

He may have connections to West Sacramento and Woodland, police said.

According to police, Rodriguez robbed the victim on Sycamore Lane near Villanova Drive and then drove away in a silver coupe. A short time later, police said officers stopped that vehicle, but Rodriguez fled before police could arrest him.

Police are currently investigating the possibility that this robbery is related to four other armed robberies in Davis. In all cases, victims described being robbed by a person with a gun and then that robber driving away in a car with another person.

Officers said they later found a gun used in the robbery along with the silver coupe, which was abandoned.

It's unknown if Rodriguez is still armed. Felony warrants have been issued for his arrest, according to police.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400 or 911.
