1 dead after Stockton hit-and-run

Police said a 60-year-old man died in the collision.

STOCKTON, Calif. — One person is dead after a hit-and-run in Stockton Tuesday evening.

According to the Stockton Police Department, the collision happened near March Lane and Venetian Drive around 6:45 p.m.

Few details surrounding the incident and what led up to it have been released, however, police confirmed the collision involved a pedestrian, a 60-year-old man.

Police said the man was found unresponsive at the scene and pronounced dead. He was later identified as Vincent Ramirez, according to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Stockton Police Department said 23-year-old Giovanni Angelo was arrested on suspicion of felony traffic-related charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
