2 arrested in connection to Broadway shooting in Sacramento

Sacramento Police Department officers say Abdul-Rashad Tanko, 19, and Jaeaunna Sarente, 25, were arrested Thursday in connection to the shooting.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento police arrested two people in connection to a Broadway shooting that left two people hurt Wednesday. 

Sacramento Police Department officers say Abdul-Rashad Tanko, 19, and Jaeaunna Sarente, 25, were arrested Thursday in connection to the shooting. Tanko was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and firearms charges while Sarente was arrested on suspicion of accessory. 

Police said they were called to the 1400 block of Broadway near the Walgreens around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday about a shooting. A man and woman were taken to a hospital. The woman had non-life-threatening wounds and the man was in stable condition, police said. Both are in stable condition, police said in an update Thursday.

It's unclear if the shooting happened inside or outside the store or what led up to the shooting. No other information is available at this time.
