Santa Rosa beheading suspect with ties to San Joaquin Valley is arrested

Investigators said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators need your help finding a man wanted in connection with a Santa Rosa woman’s beheading and they say he has ties to the San Joaquin Valley, though his current location is unknown.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the investigation began around 3:40 p.m. Thursday as officers responded to a home on Pomo Trail in Santa Rosa. Upon arrival they found a woman’s body inside and her head was missing.

Investigators believe 24-year-old Luis Gustavo Aroyo-Lopez, a relative of the victim, killed her and left the scene with her head.

His current location is unknown as well as his method of travel. He has relatives in the San Joaquin Valley, but again, it’s unknown where he is going.

He was recently released from prison and is on community supervision. He is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him should call 911.

He is described as 5’6” tall and around 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen in a black hoodie, black pants and white shoes. He also has a tattoo of ‘420’ and a marijuana leaf on the left side of his head.
