STOCKTON, Calif. — UPDATE: 8:30 a.m.
The massive fire that broke out early Tuesday morning at a Stockton pallet yard and threatened several residences is fully contained, according Stockton Fire Chief Lane Healy.
Healy told ABC10 that the fire started around 5 a.m. and crews immediately began working to keep it from spreading into an adjacent warehouses full of more pallets. Some residents received some damage, Healy said.
"Our goal here is obviously to save lives and protect property, and the neighborhood was greatly exposed due to this fire," Healy told ABC10, adding that the cause of the fire is still unknown.
This pallet fire comes less than a month after another fire ripped through a different Stockton pallet yard.

A massive fire has broken out at a business in the Stockton pallet yard market, the second fire in less than a month at a Stockton pallet company.
The Stockton Fire Department said the fire started around 4 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, near East market Central pallet, 1881 East Market St. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
A greater fire alarm means the fire has exceeded five alarms and requires all available crews to the scene.
Roads in the area are currently closed. There are no reported injuries, at the moment. This is the third major fire in Stockton in less than a month, a paper recycling facility and another pallet yard caught on fire back in April.
The 2019 Amegn Tour of California is still expected to kick off in downtown Stockton around 10 a.m.
