Highway 16 closure continues due to Sand Fire in Yolo County

The Sand Fire continues to burn in Yolo County as CAL FIRE battles the blaze. Road conditions have been impacted along Highway 16 with closures in both directions.

YOLO COUNTY, Calif. — A Highway 16 closure is continuing as the Sand Fire impacts areas near Yolo County.

Caltrans has continued the closure of Highway 16 between Guinda and HW 20 in both directions. Drivers are being advised to take an alternate route.

There is no ETO at this time.

The Sand Fire is currently being battled by about 500 firefighters and has burned about 1,800 acres. Evacuations are in effect.
