CALAVERAS COUNTY, Calif. — A woman and man were killed in a crash in Calaveras County Sunday night.
According to Calaveras Consolidated Fire, firefighters and Cal Fire responded to a call for a head-on collision around 9:30 p.m. Sunday along Highway 12 near Toyon Middle School.
The fire department says a young man and a young woman suffered fatal injuries. A third person was airlifted with major injuries. A small dog was also killed in the accident.
The accident victims have not been identified yet.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
