SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics are using the holiday season to integrate into the Sacramento community before temporarily relocating to Sutter Health Park next spring.
The MLB team is partnering with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership to host free skating afternoons at the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink.
"We've always known Sacramento is a great sports town with passionate fans, but the welcoming nature of the community has been next level," A's president Dave Kaval said in the release. "We're excited to offer this free skating experience and look forward to supporting many more events that bring people together across the Greater Sacramento area."
The free skate days will take place on Nov. 30, Dec. 28, and Jan. 18 from noon to 2 p.m. The first 300 people will skate for free on those dates, according to a press release from the Downtown Sacramento Partnership.
"The A's are already investing in the community and their first home game in West Sacramento isn't until March," said Micahel Ault with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership. "Let's welcome Sacramento's new neighbors by enjoying a free skate session in our A's gear."
The Downtown Ice Rink is located near the Downtown Commons on 7th and K streets.
The ice rink officially opened to the public on Nov. 6 and will be operating until Jan. 20. It's open six days a week, with Mondays being the only days it's closed.

Special hours will be in place for the following holidays:
