Merced County special education teacher accused of sending inappropriate photos to students, offering marijuana

A Buhach Colony High School teacher was arrested Friday on suspicion of furnishing cannabis to a minor.

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. — A high school teacher in Merced County was arrested last week.

According to the Merced County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began when Buhach Colony High School administrators contacted a school resource deputy about allegations against a teacher.

Investigators say the teacher, Julio Barcelo, was offering marijuana to minors and sending inappropriate photos to students. According to the high school's website, Barcelo is a special education teacher. 

Barcelo was arrested and booked on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child under 18 and furnishing cannabis to a minor.
