ELK GROVE, Calif. — Northern California will add another Amazon Fresh to the Sacramento area with Elk Grove’s grand opening Thursday.
The new store will open around 8 a.m. Thursday with grand opening festivities. Friends and family can enjoy activities and games until about 7 p.m. Thursday. Store hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. 7 days a week.
“The Amazon Fresh store in Elk Grove features the company’s latest brick-and-mortar design unveiled last year in Chicago and Southern California,” said Natalie Banke, PR Manager for Amazon Fresh.
Customers will find a diverse range of national brands, premium produce and proteins, from Amazon’s private label brands including Aplenty, Fresh Brand and 365 by Whole Foods.
The best part of it all is the deals. All customers will see discounts on selected products.

“We partner with a variety of local non-profits through Feeding America to donate surplus food from our stores,” Banke said.
Other store features include Amazon Dash Cart and Amazon One. These features are sparked by a method called “Just Walk Out,” an AI vision of computer technology.
“For example, when a shopper enters a store, the technology simply links them with their payment method and assigns a temporary numeric code, which serves as the shopper’s unique digital signature for that shopping trip. The system preserves the code throughout the shopper’s time in the store. When they exit, the code disappears, and if they come back, they get a new code,” said Dilip Kumar, Vice President of Amazon Web Service in an article on Amazon news.
At many Amazon Fresh locations, including the new Elk Grove store, there are several jobs for people to apply for, which include benefits within the company. There's also an average hourly pay of over $20.50. The benefits include employee health, caring for families and parental leave. Amazon also pays college tuition for front-line workers.
This new location will be located at 7530 Elk Grove Blvd in the Ridge Shopping Center.
