ELK GROVE, Calif. — An Elk Grove man was eliminated Monday from the current season of “The Bachelorette.”
Dylan Buckor, 24, was not selected during the episode’s rose ceremony climax by Bachelorette Jenn Tran, 26, to continue exploring any potential romantic connection the pair had. Tran navigates the remaining season with seven men left; Buckor made it into the top eight.
Tran never selected Buckor for an official one-on-one date, but he and Tran dined alone together after he emerged victorious in a group date competition during the July 15 episode.
Buckor posted Tuesday on Instagram comments about his experience on the show.
“I can say that through this experience, I’ve learned a lot about myself and I am a better man today for it,” he said. “Not quite the ending I was searching for, but the ending that was right for me,” Buckor wrote in the post.
He was identified by the show’s producers as a medical student and told Tran during the premiere he was waiting to hear back on his Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) score.
Buckor attended Pleasant Grove High School on Bond Road from 2014-2018, ABC10 previously reported. He played volleyball and was part of the school’s Digital Media Academy elective, according to the Elk Grove Unified School District. He appeared as an anchor in the school’s TV broadcast.
He was 6 feet, 6 inches tall as a senior in 2018, according to MaxPreps.
He graduated from Sacramento State with a bachelor’s in sociology, according to the university. Buckor posted about the achievement on Instagram in December 2023.
“When he isn't working toward his goals, Dylan loves listening to Drake and attending Sacramento Kings games,” Buckor’s biography on the Bachelorette website says.
In October 2023, Buckor served as a bachelor of sorts when he appeared in a dating video on YouTube where he and a professional matchmaker took turns narrowing down a field of potential companions for him until they both selected their final choice.
The Sacramento region is also the hometown of Bachelorette Clare Crawley, a St. Francis High School alumna, who championed her own season in 2020 before ending it early and passing the baton to Tayshia Adams.
