ELK GROVE, Calif — Elk Grove will officially have the second Amazon Fresh in Northern California in the next few weeks.
Store officials announced the Elk Grove site will open on Sept. 12.
The store was notably empty for nearly two years, even after they started hiring for “Zone Lead” roles back in October of 2022. It looked ready to go, but details about its opening were few a far between until a store spokesperson confirmed with ABC10 in July that the store would, in fact, open.
While Elk Grove might not be the last city to get an Amazon Fresh store, it’s not yet clear what city might be the next, at least for now.
An Amazon spokesperson said the company plans to continue selectively opening new Amazon Fresh stores as they see positive feedback on the new format.
The Elk Grove opening would follow the store’s debut in Roseville. Roseville’s site makes use of Amazon Dash Cart and Amazon One.
Amazon Fresh will be carrying brands like Equator Coffees, Alvarado Street Bakery and 4505 Meats along with the private-label brands like Aplenty, Fresh Brand and 365 by Whole Foods.
Other items to check include grab-and-go sandwiches, wraps, snack boxes, take-and-bake pizzas, ready-to-heat burritos and ready-made meals.
