Police, FBI arrest Fairfield homicide suspect

Investigators say they are still looking into what motivated the deadly shooting.

VACAVILLE, Calif. — Officers with the FBI and Vacaville Police Department arrested a man on suspicion of murder after discovering a victim's body shot, inside a crashed car on Oct. 13.

Police made the arrest in the case on Nov. 10, but released details for the first time on Sunday. Authorities identified the suspect as 47-year-old Ryan Moreno.

According to police, officers discovered the 44-year-old victim's body inside a crashed truck off the road near Cement Hill Road, west of Peabody Road in Fairfield the morning of Oct. 13.

Investigators believe the crash happened the day before the discovery. The victim was identified as a man from Oakland.

Police said Sunday that investigators are still looking into what motivated the deadly shooting that caused the solo-car crash.
