FOLSOM, Calif. — Crawdads on the Lake, a Folsom spinoff of Sacramento’s Crawdads on the River, has planned its grand opening for Friday, June 14.
The grand opening is scheduled for 11 a.m. Owners Trevor Shults and Todd Zancaner took the opportunity to purchase and renovate the space located at 9900 Greenback Lane due to its unprecedented view of Lake Natoma, according to Shults. The spot was formerly inhabited by Cliff House of Folsom, which ABC10 confirmed closed in February.
“What’s unique about Crawdads on the River and (Crawdads) on the Lake is the proximity to water,” Shults told ABC10 in April. “It’s a very unique brand with great food, great music and great views.”
Crawdads on the Lake’s first live music event Saturday features the BoomTown Saints, a country music duo from Nashville, Tennessee. Their top songs on Apple Music include “All Trucks Go To Heaven,” “Good Day To Get Gone” and “Blacktop Don’t.”
Last week, Crawdads operators took to social media to announce Lakeside Café in Folsom, a brunch house scheduled to open in July.
Renovations of the space include expanding the existing outdoor patio, creating a centralized bar servicing both indoor and outdoor patrons, adding a stage for live music and an all-around updating of the property.
“It’s been around for a long time, and it just needed a little tender love and care,” Shults said.
Crawdads on the Lake will be the franchise’s second location. When asked if there are plans for more, Shults said it’s possible.
“I don’t know if there’s many locations that would fit our brand like this one, but you never know,” he said.
