PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — A Fresno police sergeant arrested earlier this week for attempted lewd acts on a child was booked into the Placer County Jail Friday.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, deputies came down to Fresno to pick up Sgt. Paige McQuay to face charges in Placer County.
McQuay was initially arrested Wednesday after Roseville police notified Fresno police a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
He was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of attempted lewd acts upon a child and communication with a minor with the intent to commit an unlawful offense.
Fresno police say McQuay has been with the department since 1993 and an internal investigation is underway. He's currently on paid administrative leave.
