GRANITE BAY, Calif. — The suspect in a Granite Bay double homicide is accused of killing his mother and brother.
On Wednesday, the Placer County Sheriff's Office confirmed the two people killed as Janell Meinzer, 67, and Lance Meinzer, 45.
Deputies were called to a home along Oak Leaf Way on Monday for an incident that led to a standoff. The suspect ultimately surrendered and was detained around 11:45 a.m. When deputies went inside the home, they found both the suspect's mother and brother dead.
The suspect was ultimately identified as 36-year-old Josef Meinzer. According to jail records, he's facing a murder charge and is ineligible for bail.
