FAIR OAKS, Calif. — The man shot and killed by Sacramento County deputies last Thursday in Fair Oaks has been identified.
According to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, he was 24-year-old Israel Price of Carmichael.
It all unfolded around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday when deputies responded to an apartment on the 6600 block of Moraga Drive in Carmichael for a report of a shooting during an argument between roommates.
Upon arrival, deputies found Price had run away with a revolver-style handgun.
Price was found just before 3 a.m. Thursday on the rooftop of a home on the 6800 block of Ashfield Way in Fair Oaks. The sheriff’s office says Price fired his gun toward deputies around 3:45 a.m. and three returned fire and he was fatally hit.
The deputies involved in the deadly shooting are on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation. A review will then be completed by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
