Man arrested, accused of threatening employee at Adventist Health in Marysville

Investigators say the man's threats against his estranged wife led to restricted visitor access at the hospital last week.

MARYSVILLE, Calif. — Yuba County deputies said visitor access at Adventist Health in Marysville was restricted Friday because a man allegedly threatened his estranged wife during her shift at the hospital.

Raymond Gonzales, 30, allegedly threatened her while she was working, according to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office. Late Friday, deputies arrested him at his home in Marysville.

Gonzales is accused of criminal threats and felon in possession of a firearm.

The hospital posted to Facebook on Friday visitor restrictions were put in place but not because of an outbreak, causing panic among Yuba County residents. Normal operations resumed Saturday morning.

"We recognize our decision was challenging for our patients, staff and community and appreciate their understanding and cooperation as we worked to resolve the issue," the hospital said in a statement Saturday.
