Man killed in North Sacramento triple shooting identified

Another man was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound near the scene and a third victim took herself to the hospital.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The man killed in an early Sunday morning shooting in North Sacramento has been identified.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified him as 37-year-old Rodney Williams.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. Sunday along the 1500 block of Orlando Way near El Camino Avenue and west of the I-80 Business Loop.

Upon arrival, police found Williams with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Police found a second man nearby with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and he was taken to the hospital. A third victim took herself to the hospital and she’s listed in stable condition.

The events leading up to the shooting are unclear and it’s under investigation.
