PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — A Roseville foster mother is facing charges after two twin boys drowned at a home pool in October 2023.
According to Placer County Superior Court documents filed June 20, Schitara Victoria Page is facing two counts of cruelty to child by abuse, neglect or endangering health with special allegations of willful harm of injury resulting in death.
She is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at 1 p.m.
CASE HISTORY
The case dates to Oct. 9, 2023, when first responders arrived to a home on Waterford Glen Circle around 11:30 a.m. for two boys who were found unresponsive. Both were hospitalized but later died.
Documents released the following month from Child Protective Services revealed the two boys were two-year-old twins in foster care and that they’d been placed with their caretaker in January 2023.
The documents said it was reported the foster caregiver failed to provide adequate supervision for the twins, resulting in them drowning in the home pool. The documents said Page told investigators she looked away for five minutes and found them in the pool. She called 911 and started CPR.
