Beloved bowling alley in Sacramento permanently closes after fire

In February, officials said there was extensive damage inside the bowling alley because of all the water used to put out the fire.

CALIFORNIA, USA — A bowling alley in Sacramento is permanently closing after a fire in February.

AMF Land Park Lanes caught fire around 1 p.m. on February 11. When the Sacramento Fire Department arrived at Freeport Boulevard, they found a couch behind the bowling alley fully engulfed in flames.

At the time, officials said there was extensive damage inside the bowling alley because of all the water used to put out the fire. About a month later, the bowling alley announced it would be permanently closing.

"We have deeply appreciated your patronage and support over the years. We’ve made great bowling memories together, but this is not the end of our story together," Bowlero Corporation wrote on its website.

The Sacramento Fire Department told ABC10 Tuesday the fire was an accident and there are no suspects.

The company is directing people to go to Bowlero North Sacramento, about a 20-minute drive away from the location of AMF Land Park Lanes.
