Where is the proposed Sacramento Topgolf? City Councilmember releases renderings and location

Talamantes said the new TopGolf will be about 58,000 square feet and is projected to create more than 250 new jobs.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Topgolf could be coming to Sacramento in the South Natomas area.

A Sacramento City Councilmember Karina Talamantes released renderings for the facility and where it could go at an Open House event Wednesday evening.

The proposed two stories and 80-bay facility is expected to be located off Venture Oaks Way, the area of West El Camino Avenue and Interstate 5.

“I have gone to Topgolf three times in my life,” Talamantes said.

For the councilmember, it has been a four-year process to get to this point, which started when she was chief of staff for former councilmember, and now State Senator, Angelique Ashby.

She said this is not designed to put other golf shops out of business.

“Topgolf has like 51% of people that have never held a golf club in their hand,” Talamantes said.

This comes after Natomas has been seen growth in new housing and businesses such as Costco.

Talamantes said the new TopGolf will be about 58,000 square feet and is projected to create more than 250 new jobs. It will also generate $15 million in economic growth.

The Natomas Chamber of Commerce said more is in the works and this could revitalize this area of offices outside of office hours.

“Where we stand right now in South Natomas, up to Costco all the way out to the airport, you see a tremendous amount of commercial development, and there is much more planned. This is just the beginning,” said Dard Hunter, who is with the Natomas Chamber of Commerce.

Topgolf officials were at the Open House, but the company has not made an announcement whether they are coming to Natomas. One official tells ABC10 they are in the preliminary stages and no timelines have been set.

But Sacramento community leaders are enthusiastic about the possibility of Top Golf coming to Sacramento.

“That lot has been vacant forever and it is going to be a real landmark for the businesses here,” Hunter said.

Topgolf has not filed any paperwork with the City of Sacramento yet. If it is approved by the city, it could take a year before the facility is up and running.

If the building is completed, it will be the second location in the Sacramento region, joining Roseville.
