SACRAMENTO, Calif. — If you've been waiting for the Taco Bell Cantina to open in Downtown Sacramento, then we have some good news for you ... the wait is over.
Taco Bell announced they would originally open in the Fall of 2019. At some point, they shifted the opening date to sometime before the end of January 2020.
And now, Taco Bell announced the new location on 900 K St. will open Wednesday, Jan. 29, just before the end of January 2020.
If you can't wait until Wednesday, Taco Bell is hosting a soft opening Tuesday, Jan. 28, with a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club Sacramento. The fundraiser is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the entire menu available. Proceeds from meals purchased will go towards the Boys and Girls Club.
The Taco Bell Cantina is different from the regular Taco Bells because the Cantinas serve alcohol, offer shareable tapas-style food, and do not have a drive-thru. The first Cantina restaurant opened in 2015 in Chicago, with more sprouting up throughout the country since then, with locations in San Francisco, New York and Las Vegas.
Editor's Note: Boys and Girls Club Sacramento informed ABC10 that the fundraiser would begin at 1 p.m. instead of 11 a.m. as originally reported.
