One dead after shooting in Stockton

Stockton police said a man was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A man is dead after a shooting in Stockton Wednesday morning, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Police said the shooting happened around 12:20 a.m. in the 500 block of West Charter Ave. near Doctor M.L.K. Jr Blvd.

When officers arrived, police found a man with at least one gunshot wound. 

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released. 

Homicide detectives were called out to investigate.
