Stockton pools, fountains and splash pads to stay cool as heat wave arrives

There are many options for beating the heat this week in Stockton.

SACRAMENTO, Calif —

The first heat wave of the year has arrived in Northern California with temperatures set to rise over 100 degrees starting Tuesday.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect across the valley due to the dangerously hot high temperatures along with the elevated overnight lows.

Stockton is forecast to reach over 100 degrees Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the hottest of those three being Wednesday with a high of 103 degrees. 

Here’s a list of local pools from the City of Stockton to help cool off from the heat. Pool admission is $3 and participants under 12 years old must be accompanied by someone over the age of 18:

Brooking Park Pool - 4505 Nugget Ave. 

  • Weekdays (Tuesday - Friday)
  • June 4 - July 26
  • 1-6 p.m.
  • Weekends (Saturday - Sunday) 
  • June 8 - September 2
  • 12-6 p.m.

Holiday Park Pool - 5710 Kermit Ln. 

  • Weekdays (Tuesday - Friday) 
  • June 4 - July 26
  • 1-6 p.m.
  • Weekends (Saturday - Sunday) 
  • June 1 - September 2
  • 12-6 p.m.

Oak Park Pool - 3537 Alvarado Ave.  

  • Weekdays (Tuesday - Friday) 
  • June 4 - July 26
  • 1-6 p.m.
  • Weekends (Saturday - Sunday) 
  • May 25 - September 2
  • 12-6 p.m.

Sousa Park Pool - 2829 Yellowstone Ave.

  • Closed Summer 2024 due to maintenance.

Along with pools, the city offers fountains and splash pads.

Splash Pads

  • Open May 25 to September
  • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Smith Park - 2606 William Moss Blvd. (Currently closed for maintenance, as of June 4)
    • Michael Faklis Park - 5250 Cosumnes Dr.
    • Gleason Park - 535 Church St.
    • Iloilo Park - 5920 Scott Creek Dr.
    • Pixie Woods Dragon Water Play Area - 3121 Monte Diablo Ave.*
      • *Fee for entry

Weber Point Fountain

  • Open May 25 to September 2
  • 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • The fountain will be closed to the public when Weber Point Events Center is hosting a special event and when the fountain is undergoing maintenance.
  • Signs are posted when the fountain is closed.
