Woman dead after shooting in Stockton. Police search for her killer

The 22-year-old woman died from her injuries roughly two hours after a man, 46, died after allegedly being shot in a separate incident four miles away.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A woman was killed Saturday night in Stockton, authorities said.

Around 8:45 p.m., the 22-year-old woman was allegedly shot along the 1700 block of West Fremont Street, according to the Stockton Police Department.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment but later died from her injuries.

Detectives are investigating the incident, but there is no suspect description, according to law enforcement.

Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night, officers responded to a report of a separate shooting near Aurora Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard and located a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was also taken to the hospital but later died.

Police said they're searching for a suspect in his case, too.

The shootings were roughly four miles apart. In a news release, Stockton police did not indicate the two incidents were related.
