Fundraiser launched for family of Vacaville fire technician killed in crash

Bryden Nadasdy died along Vaca Valley Parkway, west of Browns Valley Road. He had worked with the department as a code enforcement technician since March 2022.

VACAVILLE, Calif. — A fundraiser created Monday will send its proceeds to the family of a Vacaville fire technician who died Friday in a crash.

Bryden Nadasdy died in the crash late Friday night along Vaca Valley Parkway, west of Browns Valley Road, according to the Vacaville Fire Department. He had worked with the department as a code enforcement technician since March 2022, authorities said.

He is survived by his mother and brother, fire officials said. The Vacaville City Firefighters Charity Fund organized Monday a GoFundMe page to support Nadasdy's family following his death. The page can be found HERE.

“He served with the highest level of dedication and commitment, and his loss is deeply felt by the fire department, the city and the community,” the department said Saturday in a statement.

The crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

Nadasdy’s death occurred one day after a Vacaville Police Department Officer Matthew Bowen was killed in a crash on duty; Bowen was the department's first officer to die in the line of duty, ABC10 previously reported.
