The two victims of a plane crash Tuesday at the Minden-Tahoe airport, which left one dead, have been identified.

Redwood City resident Randal Abraham, 68, and Brandt Wood, 52, from Gardnerville, Nevada, were aboard an "experimental amateur-built" twin-engine airplane that crashed shortly after takeoff at approximately 8:23 a.m., according to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

Abraham, the pilot, was pronounced dead at the scene. Wood was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash, according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office news release. The sheriff's office did not provide information on the extent of Wood's injuries.

The NTSB launched an investigation into the crash. More information will be provided when available.

Witnesses or people with more information can contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.
