IONE, Calif. — The death of a woman who was visiting her husband, an inmate at Mule Creek State Prison, is under investigation.
According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, it happened Wednesday, Nov. 13.
CDCR says an inmate used the family visit unit phone to tell officers his wife passed out during visitation.
Officers initiated life-saving measures and called 911, but she was ultimately pronounced dead.
The Amador County Coroner will determine her official cause of death.
